I am excited for my debut as a participating artist in this long running and popular art event.
Excited and a little nervous.
Will I be organised in time?
Will the weather be kind?
Will I have enough hanging space?
Will anyone come ?
I am sure it will all come together and be a success. Nothing ventured as they say and it will be fabulous to be part of this established Hills Art Event.
After holding a wedding on our property for 180 guests (plus a 10 piece soul band) nothing will ever be quite as daunting.
A wedding that went on for 2 days with camping in the paddock, a giant maypole, a horse round-yard converted to a dance floor and lighting
by the crew from The Lord of The Rings movie.
But that is another story. ThIs time it is ALL ABOUT THE ART
I will have original art, prints and cards for sale. It is nice to have something affordable for all our visitors.
I try to capture my art with my phone when I add it to social media but always struggle to capture it. There is nothing like seeing art in real life.
It is not the best time of year for the cottage style garden but there will be plenty of seating spots under our large deciduous trees. There will be refreshments and a glass of wine if that is your preference.
The art will be displayed in my quirky studio, constructed from recycled materials including old lead light windows and doors.
One of these being the huge arched window that came from the old Mandurah Bakery and which we refer to as the “Husband Killer”
Art will also be displayed in the Elephant Pavilion, as well… our gazebo built in the same style.
We are located at 620 Charles Road, Mahogany Creek and within in a cluster of open studios with many in the neighbouring Glen Forrest.
